Chum101 trained in Sculpture, works across an eclectic range of media and processes in 2D, 3D and relief. His USP is intensity of detail and subversion of use of tools, for instance the sewing machine used as a freehand embroidery drawing tool and a Dremel used like a tattoo machine to engrave leather. His interdisciplinary practice is motivated by innovation and experimentalism – an approach that has grown from his longterm association with the UK Graffiti Scene and which has seen him traverse the boundaries between fine art, sculpture, illustration, fashion, product design and tattooing. This piece is an affectionate homage to his adopted hometown and incorporates his signature fusion of traditional and contemporary elements.
